Open Classes

Gulfshore Ballet offers Open Ballet Technique Classes for our students, alumni and also to those outside of our school for Levels 3/4/5/6/7/8/Pre Pro for students ages 12 years and up.

Open Classes are 1.5 Hour Technique Classes, held during breaks in our usual schedule, such as Winter or Summer break, so Students can continue training at their convenience.

Summer Program

We will post our Summer Program Information here when it becomes available.

The GSB Summer Program offers classes for Baby Ballerinas through Pre Pro, ages 4-23.

Summer Classes are open to all, including those not currently enrolled in any Gulfshore Ballet Programs.

Gulfshore Ballet’s Summer Program provides high quality pre-professional ballet training featuring the area’s most qualified  instructors and curriculum.

The core curriculum for Intermediate through Advanced Levels will consist of Ballet Technique, Pointe, Pas de Deux and  Variations, as well as classical repertoire.

Additional classes may include Contemporary, Jazz, Character, Strengthening, Stretching, Turns & Leaps and Pilates to help students develop versatility in their dancing.

CLASS OBSERVATION

Family members are invited to attend open classroom observation on scheduled days.

DRESS CODE

The Gulfshore Ballet dress code applies to all students participating in the program, no exceptions.

Female Students:

Hair must be worn in a bun with no bangs or fly away hairs. No jewelry (except for small non-dangling stud earrings) or nail polish is allowed.

Ballet & Pointe

Black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers or pointe shoes (if applicable) and students may wear any color ballet skirt for variations and repertoire classes

Character Class

Students may need a long black Character skirt and Character shoes.

Contemporary/Modern Jazz/Lyrical (Male & Female Students)

Bare Feet-Jazz shoes are optional or at Instructor’s request

Pilates (Male & Female Students)

Tights, leotard, yoga pants, leggings, tank top, socks or bare feet

Instructor may request that Students get a Pilates Ring or other related equipment

Male Students must wear a white fitted shirt or men’s leotard, black tights, and white or black ballet slippers. Young boys under the age of 13 may wear black shorts over their tights.

REFUND POLICY

There are no exceptions to the refund policies. There are no refunds on registration fees, deposits, tuition, uniforms, or merchandise. Please keep in mind that all dance activities including the study of ballet come with the risk of injury. Those students who suffer a major and debilitating injury preventing any dancing after full payment of tuition and fees may submit a letter of explanation from a licensed physician. Should such a letter be submitted, Gulfshore Ballet will consider negotiation of credit for the following year’s Summer Program or for other programming in the season.

REGISTRATION

Students must register and create an account through our Portal and pay registration and class fees.

PLACEMENT LEVEL

Artistic Directors and Instructors will determine the best level for each student based on age AND ability.
