Join us as Gulfshore Ballet presents Coppelia at Tribby Arts Center at Shell Point!
Coppélia tells the story of Swanilda and Franz, a young couple whose love is tested by a mysterious girl sitting on a toymaker’s balcony.
Unbeknownst to Franz, this “Girl”, Coppélia, is actually a life-sized doll created by the eccentric Dr.Coppélius.
Curious and jealous, Swanilda, sneaks into the toymaker’s workshop, only to discover the truth. Meanwhile, Dr. Coppélius tries to use magic to bring his beloved doll to life—by stealing Franz’s life force!
Clever and quick-thinking, Swanilda disguises herself as Coppélia, outsmarts the toymaker, and rescues Franz.
The ballet concludes with a joyous wedding celebration, featuring dazzling dances and lively music.
Full of humor, romance, and whimsical storytelling, Coppélia remains one of the most beloved classical ballets of all time.
Zoila Peña brings grace and charm to the role of Swanilda, while Kaique Barbosa dazzles as the playful and curious Frantz.

Gulfshore Ballet collaborates with Opera Naples to present Carmen, as part of the Festival Under the Stars Event
MARCH 7th, 2024

CAMBIER PARK SOFTBALL FIELD
Now in its 3rd century, the magnificent tale of Carmen proves fascinating and ageless in the hands of Jimmy Gamonet de los Heros. Here, he forged a modern version of the story, focusing attention on the dancers themselves.
Although the fiery Carmen is unmistakably the ruling figure, Gamonet created choreography for her suitors that allows each to express his own complexity of character and well-spring of passion. Producing a ballet with a known storyline was a departure for Jimmy Gamonet, who was best known for his neoclassical creations. To help emphasize what is unspoken, he simplified the visual palette for costumes and sets, making black and red the dominant themes. The use of these colors and their symbolism – sometimes subtle, oftentimes bold – telegraph the tragic ending to the story.
This Performance is part of the Festival Under the Stars Event and will be held at Cambier Park Softball Field
