Schedule a Placement Class

NEW STUDENTS TO GULFSHORE BALLET

We welcome all interested ballet/dance students to our school and enrollment is open year round.

All NEW students will need to sign up for a Placement Class to determine the appropriate Level for the Student before registering and signing up for classes.

Gulfshore Ballet Faculty will assess each incoming student to determine the correct level at which the child should be placed by offering a placement class, held during our Fall or Spring Season in a currently running class.

Creative Dance (Mommy/Daddy & Me) and Adult students are excluded from Placement Classes.

Please fill out this form completely and a Gulfshore Ballet staff member will contact you by email or phone within 3 days after submitting this form to schedule a class that seems appropriate for your student based on the information you’ve given.

Placement classes are $20 per class and must be paid at the time that you schedule the class online in the Parent Portal or when the student comes in for the placement class by cash or credit card and are non refundable even if you decide not to enroll your child in classes.

Placement Classes taken during Summer Sessions or Open Classes are charged the going rate for those classes.

After you have submitted the Placement Class Request Form and we have gotten back to you with the correct Class to try please create an online account here

Studio Pro Log In

Then click on the correct Level and Class and then on “Trial Lesson” where you will be prompted to pay for the class.

Alternatively, you can go to the Main Menu in the GSB Dance Studio Pro Portal and select Placement Class from the Studio Store menu under Classes & Registration.

When you arrive for your placement class, please come to the office and let us know you are here.

If you haven’t scheduled and paid for the Trial Class online you may pay the $20.00 at this time by cash or credit card.

We will then introduce you to the instructor who will evaluate your student.

After the class, the instructor will talk to you about the proper level for your student.

Then the Office Manager will either speak to you, call or email you and enroll your student in the appropriate level.

New Student Registration fee is a $50 per family non refundable fee, due at time of enrollment.

Placement Class Attire:

For female students please have hair in a neat bun with bangs clipped away from their face.

New Students for Levels 1 through Pre Pro can wear a black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers for their Placement Class.

Please purchase ballet slippers from a dance supply store as they will carry the correct type of ballet slippers.

Baby Ballerinas and Pre Ballet Students can wear a black or pink leotard with pink tights, pink ballet slippers and a ballet skirt.

If your student doesn’t have dance wear they can try the initial placement class wearing leggings, a tank top and socks.

Boys can wear ballet tights or shorts, a T shirt and ballet slippers/socks for their placement class.

WAIVER AND RELEASE AGREEMENT everybody must read and accept this waiver in order to register.

I/We understand that there is risk of injury involved in the activity of dance in general. In consideration for Gulfshore Ballet accepting the applicant as Student, and in consideration of the applicant having an opportunity to improve skills through dance classes and performances, the undersigned, who are legally responsible for the named enrolling Student, realize the risk of injury involved and hereby agree to release and discharge Gulfshore Ballet Inc., its Trustees, Officers, Dance Instructors, Employees and Volunteers from any and all liability for injury, loss, damage, obligation, expense, or penalty sustained by the Student arising out of or in connection with the Student's dance instruction or Student's dance performances.

I hereby grant the staff of Gulfshore Ballet permission to administer basic first aid help, and/or call the Student's physician, and/or call 911 in case of a medical emergency while attending classes or rehearsals at Gulfshore Ballet or rehearsal for performances off site. Gulfshore Ballet will attempt to first notify the parents or guardians in the case of an emergency.

I understand that if I do not receive an email confirmation after I submit my form I will have to fill the form out again and will call the GSB Office and leave a voicemail or email the office.

I/We have read and understand the Classroom Policies and the Student/Parent Handbook on Gulfshore Ballet’s website at https://www.gsballet.org/content/gsb-student-and-parent-handbook, which are a part of the Registration, and understand that a Parent/Student’s violation of such policies may result in the Parent/Student to be dismissed from Gulfshore Ballet School

COVID LIABILITY STATEMENT
The health and safety of our students are of the utmost importance to Gulfshore Ballet, so we will be adhering to the CDS’s Covid-19 and Florida State guidelines.
An inherent risk of exposure to Covid-19 exists in any public place where people are present.
By taking classes at Gulfshore Ballet, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to Covid-19 and will hold GSB harmless from any liability of a lawsuit (if) sometime thereafter your child/the student contracts the Covid 19 virus.
