Pre-Ballet 1 offers an introduction to the art of dance by promoting the exploration of creativity and expression through movement. The use of scarves, hoops, bean bags, and child-friendly music enhance the learning environment for this age group and enhances the development and improvement of motor skills, coordination, attention and listening skills, and provides the student with the skills necessary to continue their study of Classical Ballet at the next level. No previous ballet training is necessary.
Pre-Ballet 2 focuses on the development of rhythmic skills, coordination, gross motor skills, listening skills, and the child’s natural creativity and desire to move. Building on the skills practiced in Pre-Ballet 1, the child will continue to use his or her imagination, while building physical strength and endurance through practicing the concepts of warm-up, stretching, creative movement, and improvisation. At this level, basic ballet vocabulary will be introduced.
Pre-Ballet 3 students will begin a more formal study of Classical Ballet. Building on the skills learned in Pre-Ballet 2, students will continue to build their physical skills, creative abilities, and rhythmic skills. The student will continue to expand appropriate Classical Ballet vocabulary and skills to prepare them for the elementary level of instruction.
